A dispute arose concerning a new business that broke up almost immediately after it began. Our client was one of the owners of the business and wanted to recover his equipment, his share of the profits the business earned during its brief operation, and damages arising from slanderous statements made by his former business partners. The jury awarded our client his fair share of the profits and damages for defamation, including punitive damages, for a total award of over $200,000.
